Farhang & Medcoff will exhibit at the upcoming U.S. Department of Commerce export controls industry seminar held February 6 and 7 at the Embassy Suites in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This two-day event is hosted by the Bureau of Industry and Security (“BIS”) and led by experienced export policy specialists and enforcement personnel from BIS's field offices. It will provide an in-depth examination of the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and cover information on compliance with U.S. export control laws, to include what items and activities are subject to the EAR; how to determine export license requirements for your products; export clearance procedures; and export compliance program elements.

Law firm partner Matthew Goldstein will attend the event on behalf of Farhang & Medcoff.  Matthew is head of the firm's International Trade Group, focusing his practice on export controls compliance under the EAR, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”), and related laws. Matthew has extensive experience in counseling companies in compliance with the EAR and ITAR and previously served as an export controls subject matter expert for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Matthew has also served as an industry representative on export control issues for BIS and the U.S. Department of State pursuant to executive branch appointments under the Federal Advisory Committee Act.  Look for him at the Farhang & Medcoff booth inside the event.
